Positive and Hope Psychology Nurse Coaching integrates positive attitudes and increased hope to promote well-being using nurse coaching principles.
- Positive psychology techniques help people to shift from surviving to thriving and use positive human qualities to focus on and build life purpose and meaning.
- Hope psychology promotes the positive belief that health, wellness, life, and your future can and will be better and that each individual can make that happen.
Positive psychology focuses on positive psychological states, traits, relationships, and health to promote a flourishing life and it is used in collaboration with other psychology and wellness-focused techniques. With Positive Psychology Nurse Coaching, we address joy and happiness, talents, interests, character strengths, emotions, life purpose, social support, optimism, satisfaction, and hope. We focus less on what is wrong and instead focus on enhancing what is right, building potential, and achieving goals.
Hope psychology is an aspect of positive psychology. It is more than just wishful thinking, it is a blend of faith, optimism, strength, and willpower. Hope Psychology theory uses these to build self-efficacy and self-esteem, and individuals with higher hope tend to have better outcomes in goal achievement and health and well-being. Hope is an innate state of the spirit or mind that we as spiritual-human beings are born with. There is no evidence for “false hope”, and hope can never fully be lost because threatened hope is still hope. Through Hope Psychology Nurse Coaching principles, I foster the pathways in individuals to develop the motivation, intention, confidence, and ability to achieve goals and pursue a desired path in alignment with faith and God.
“Everything is possible for one who believes.” ~ Jesus [Mark 9:23]
I have practiced Positive and Hope Psychology personally for several decades and have studied it at master and doctoral levels extensively. Using my 24 years of medical nursing experience, my own personal and professional experiences of the mind-body consciousness connection, and using techniques of prayer, yoga, meditation, nature, whole-food plant-based nutrition, and psychosomatic and psychosocial connections, I have been able to develop strong nurse coaching techniques within positive and hope psychology theory. I am honored to take this journey with you and walk in hope and positivity together.
